What is chewing tobacco?
Chewing tobacco is one of the oldest ways of consuming tobacco and comes in several varieties. Pinkerton produces loose leaf and plug.
Loose leaf tobacco contains shredded tobacco leaves that have been flavored and are packaged in a resealable foil pouch. Consumers will place the leaves in their mouth and rest it in their cheek to enjoy the flavor of the tobacco. When consumers are done “chewing” they spit out all the leaves.
Plug chewing tobacco also contains shredded tobacco leaves that have been flavored and then pressed into a dense brownie-like brick. The tobacco can be cut or bitten off and then chewed. Consumers will need to spit out the saliva they generate while using plug tobacco. When they are done using the product, they need to spit out all the leaves.

How is Pinkerton chew different than our competitors?
Pinkerton Tobacco soaks the tobacco leaves in the flavoring slurry (known as casing), rather than spraying the flavoring on the leaf, which delivers a richer, more full-bodied flavor. Pinkerton is the only tobacco company to use this process.
What is moist snuff?
Moist snuff, often referred to as ‘dip’, contains shredded tobacco leaves that have been flavored. Consumers place a pinch under their lower lip and need to spit any saliva that is generated. Moist snuff is also available in pouches that consumers place in their lower lip and use the same way. When consumers are done “dipping” they spit out the loose tobacco our pouch.
