CHEW and PLUG
- Tobacco is harvested from around the world.
- The tobacco leaves are heated with steam so that when the stems are removed the leaf is not damaged.
- Once slightly dried, the tobacco leaves are dipped into a sugar-based slurry known as “casing” that flavors the tobacco leaves. Some blends also receive a special top flavor. Sugar and licorice are the primary sources of chewing tobacco’s flavor.
- The leaves will be stored for 24 hours before being packaged.
- Chew products are packaged in foil-lined pouches that seal in freshness.
- Plug tobacco is produced the same way as chew, but is then wrapped and pressed into the well-known squares and set aside for special aging. When ready, they are packaged in either foil or plastic material.

LOOSE and POUCH SNUFF
- Tobacco is harvested from around the world.
- The tobacco leaves are heated with steam so that when the stems are removed the leaf is not damaged.
- Sharp cutters turn the tobacco leaves into snuff-sized tobacco. Loose snuff is cut into long cut or fine cut.
- The tobacco is returned to the warehouse for a special aging process.
- The aged tobacco is then placed in a huge blender where it receives additional flavoring.
- Loose snuff is packed into the familiar snuff cans.
- Pouch snuff is loaded into little fabric pouches and then packed into the snuff cans.
